Yangjin Lamu and her husband Mark Yuting Chen are veteran Buddhist practitioner with over 30 years of meditation experience and learnings from various traditions. In order to consolidate a set of methods for modern day practitioners, the couple sifted through a vast body of meditation theories and methods from the past hundreds of years and developed Consciousness and Zen of Yangjinma. Consciousness University, on the other hand, is a video site that Yangjin and Mark built to host the view, methods and research on practising in daily life, as well as stories and examples of how the couple and their students practice at home, at work and in daily life.

The Science of Advanced Consciousness combines logical thinking of the West and wisdom of the East to make meditation theories and methods science-based, practical, and relevant to everyday life. The courses center around ‘consciousness’, using related meditation methods to help students tame the mind, achieve mind-body wellness, build a happy family and career, understand mind and life, and even seek and validate the truth of life in their own experiences.

Zen of Yangjinma is a set of profound methods resulting from Yangjin’s 30+ years of practice and multiple retreats. It integrates music, chanting, and dance to help people dive deep into their consciousness and experience the nature of mind. The teachings are a blend of the age-old secretive Avalokiteśvara Method, Qi-Meridian-Bindu and the Great Perfection. By practicing Zen of Yangjinma, a person can quickly ease into a state of calmness, tame emotions, experience emptiness and eventually obtain true happiness.

Since 2013, Yangjin and Mark have spoken on various occasions and offered almost 100 training programs across Taipei, New Taipei City, Beijing, Shanghai, Ningbo, Guangzhou, Kunming, Zhengzhou, Chengdu, Thailand, Bhutan, Nanning, Silicon Valley, San Francisco and Atlanta. Together, they’ve helped tens of thousands of students address life issues and troubled emotions, improve their overall well-being, family relationships, and quality of life.

Yangjin in Tibetan means “wonderful sound”. It represents wisdom in emptiness, i.e. the ultimate wisdom. Zen of Yangjinma is a set of methods that uses sound, body movements, qi and meridians to regulate the body and mind frequencies, free people from afflictions and help them see and experience the ultimate wisdom.

Listening

It is a way of obtaining enlightenment by listening to the music of awareness. It originates from Avalokiteśvara’s “all-pervading realization based on the auditory sense” in the Shurangama Sutra.

Chanting

The special chanting can restore mind-body balance and help untie the knots and open our inner chakras to obtain enlightenment. It is rooted in the qi-meridians-bindu method from the Eight Sadhana Teachings (the Eight Herukas).

Dancing

Dance-like movements can help practitioners unblock the chakras, untie the knots, experience emptiness and luminosity. Originating from the Tara lineage, it is also part of the qi-meridians-bindu, the Eight Herukas and Great Perfection teachings.

Zen of Yangjinma can benefit practitioners of four levels:

Level 1 relaxing the mind and body; untying knots

Level 2 healing the mind and body; clearing away obstacles

Level 3 Opening up the chakras; experiencing no-self

Level 4 Smoothing out qi and meridians; experiencing oneness
